Mamma Agata's Cooking School
the Hidden Treasure in Ravello
Itinerary details:
Day 1
Collect rental car from Rome or Naples airport and drive to your hotel on the Amalfi coast (Ravello) - check in for three over nights. Check in time is 15:00.
Evening on your own.
Day 2 After breakfast self drive to the cooking school of Mamma Agata.
10:30 – Welcome meeting with Mamma Agata, with her world famous "Lemon cake"
You will receive on arrival an apron, folders with Mamma Agata’s recipes, notepads and pen. An interpreter will assist during the cooking class and answer questions.
11:00 – Start a 3 hour demonstration cooking course (eggplant Parmagiana, zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese, eggplant rolls with arugula and Parmagiana cheese, Pappardelle with peppers and sausage, spaghetti rustica, Mamma Agata’s chicken with lemon, mixed salad, Mamma Agata’s lemon cake are just some of the choices).
13:00 to 13:30 – relax in the gardens, and enjoy the beautiful views. When possible you may pick vegetables or lemons.
13:30 to 15:00 Luncheon on the beautiful terrace at Mamma Agata’s home, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and tasting the food you have prepared. Remainder of the day free.
Day 3 After breakfast self drive to Mamma Agata’s cooking school (time to be advised) for a three hour instructional wine class. An interpreter and hostess will be there during the duration of the class. You will taste three varietals of regional Campania wines along with a wonderful selection of appetizers will pair with your wines during the tastings. Artisan cheeses and salami served with honey, sweet onions and artisan breads along with taralli (a dry bread skillfully baked with nuts, olive oil and wine) are accompanied by Mamma Agata’s sun dried tomatoes, eggplant and ripe olives. Remainder of the day free.
Day 4 – after breakfast return to Rome or Naples and return the rental car with possible stop in Pompeii or Herculaneum en route?
